## Overview

Good news! You can now create boosts without a Lempod subscription – **but with one important requirement**: you must be a member of a **private pod**. Boosts in public pods still require an active subscription.

## What You Can Do Without a Subscription

If you're a member of a private pod, you can:

* ✅ Create and start boosts for **your own posts only**

* ✅ Have zero cost for private-pod boosts (the private pod owner covers the Lempod Gold fee)

* ✅ See private pods pre-selected in the "New Boost" interface

## What You Cannot Do Without a Subscription

Without an active subscription, you **cannot**:

* ❌ Boost other people's posts

* ❌ Boost company page posts

* ❌ Create boosts in public pods (these appear greyed out with a lock icon)

* ❌ Access welcome pods

## How It Works

1. **Open the "New Boost" button** – If you're a private pod member, this will be active

2. **Select a private pod** – Only private pods are available for non-subscribers

3. **Choose your own post** – Only your LinkedIn posts can be boosted without a subscription

4. **Start your boost** – No cost to you; the private pod owner's subscription covers it

## Common Scenarios

**Scenario 1: "New Boost" button is greyed out**

* You don't have any private pod memberships

* Solution: Join or create a private pod, or subscribe to access all pods

**Scenario 2: You see a lock icon on a pod**

* That's a public pod, which requires a subscription

* Solution: Deselect it and choose a private pod instead, or subscribe

**Scenario 3: You tried to boost someone else's post and got a prompt**

* Without a subscription, you can only boost your own posts (this prevents misuse)

* Solution: Subscribe to remove this restriction
