🔄 Update: Improved Experience When LinkedIn Connection Fails

Last updated on Jun 11, 2026

Overview

We've released an update to improve how users experience and recover from LinkedIn connection issues. This addresses the vague error messages and replaces it with clearer messaging and a softer visual design.

✨ What Changed

  • 🔵 Visual design improvements:

    • Notification background now uses a calm blue gradient.

    • Text and icon colors updated for better readability.

  • 🧾 Simplified messaging:

    • Replaced confusing error text with:

      "Unable to connect to LinkedIn."

  • 🔁 Improved retry experience:

    • Replaced the "Retry" link with a single clear "Reconnect" button.

    • Added visual feedback during reconnection.

    • Streamlined how the progress is displayed.

🧾 What to Tell Users

If a user reports trouble reconnecting to LinkedIn:

  1. Ask them to click the "Reconnect" button shown on screen.

  2. If that fails:

    • Suggest they refresh the page or log back into LinkedIn, then try again.
  3. Let them know:

We’ve improved the LinkedIn reconnection process to be clearer and more reliable. If it doesn’t work right away, just try again or refresh the page. If it still does not work, then log in again to LinkedIn.
