Overview
Good news! You can now create boosts without a Lempod subscription β but with one important requirement: you must be a member of a private pod. Boosts in public pods still require an active subscription.
What You Can Do Without a Subscription
If you're a member of a private pod, you can:
-
β Create and start boosts for your own posts only
-
β Have zero cost for private-pod boosts (the private pod owner covers the Lempod Gold fee)
-
β See private pods pre-selected in the "New Boost" interface
What You Cannot Do Without a Subscription
Without an active subscription, you cannot:
-
β Boost other people's posts
-
β Boost company page posts
-
β Create boosts in public pods (these appear greyed out with a lock icon)
-
β Access welcome pods
How It Works
-
Open the "New Boost" button β If you're a private pod member, this will be active
-
Select a private pod β Only private pods are available for non-subscribers
-
Choose your own post β Only your LinkedIn posts can be boosted without a subscription
-
Start your boost β No cost to you; the private pod owner's subscription covers it
Common Scenarios
Scenario 1: "New Boost" button is greyed out
-
You don't have any private pod memberships
-
Solution: Join or create a private pod, or subscribe to access all pods
Scenario 2: You see a lock icon on a pod
-
That's a public pod, which requires a subscription
-
Solution: Deselect it and choose a private pod instead, or subscribe
Scenario 3: You tried to boost someone else's post and got a prompt
-
Without a subscription, you can only boost your own posts (this prevents misuse)
-
Solution: Subscribe to remove this restriction
