What's New: Faster Login Performance

We've recently shipped significant performance improvements to the Lempod browser extension login flow. Logins that previously took up to 25 seconds now complete in approximately 2 seconds.

Key Improvements

1. Dramatically Faster Login Times

  • Before: Up to 25 seconds in worst-case scenarios

  • After: Approximately 2 seconds

  • This was achieved by reworking the authentication process with faster internal retries, parallel task execution, and server-side caching

2. New Loading Screen Display

Instead of a plain spinner, you'll now see a rotating overlay with fun tech-flavored phrases that change every second. Examples include:

  • "Calibrating Pathways"

  • "Aligning Flux"

  • "Compiling Universe"

This is intentional behavior – not an error. The rotating phrases give you fun visual feedback that the system is working while your login completes.

3. Clearer Error Messages

Error messages during login are now written in plain, user-friendly language. Technical jargon has been removed to make troubleshooting easier.

4. Automatic Cross-Tab Login

If you log in on one browser tab, opening Lempod in another tab will now automatically detect your session and redirect you to your dashboard – no manual refresh needed.

How to Get These Improvements

Update your Lempod extension to the latest version to access all these improvements. Everything else about how Lempod works remains the same.

Troubleshooting

"I'm seeing strange loading phrases – is something wrong?"

No, this is working as designed! The rotating phrases are part of the new loading experience.

"My login is still slow"

Make sure your Lempod extension is updated to the latest version. You can check your extension version in your browser's extension settings.

"I got an error message during login"

The new error messages are clearer than before. If you encounter a persistent error:

  1. Ensure you're logged into LinkedIn.com in the same browser

  2. Reinstall the Lempod extension if the issue continues

  3. Log out and back into LinkedIn, then retry Lempod login

"One of my browser tabs is stuck on the login page"

Simply refresh the stuck tab. The new cross-tab login feature should automatically redirect you to your dashboard.
